Corporate Buzzword Bingo is a game you play quietly during meetings. It is built to know as little about you as possible. This page says exactly what it touches, in plain language.

What we never collect

On your device

Your cards and marks live in your browser's local storage on your device; clearing your browser's site data deletes them. Your table name for a live game and — when you are not signed in — your career points live in session storage, which disappears when the tab closes. Career points persist only on an account you sign in to.

Live games

When you sit down at a live table, your chosen table name, your score, and (after a win) your card's words pass through our server so other players at your table can see them. This is memory-only transit: it is not logged and it is deleted when the last player leaves the room. If a game's host uses custom tiles, those tile words are handled the same way — held only while the room is open, and shown only to that room.

Accounts (optional)

You never need an account to play. If you create one, we store: the handle you invent, a salted hash of your password (we cannot read the password itself), a hashed recovery code, your career points total, any custom tiles you write, any unlocks you own, and the account's creation date. That is the whole list — there is no email on file, which is also why password recovery uses the one-time code we show you at signup.

Signing in sets one strictly necessary cookie that keeps you signed in. It is not used for tracking. Deleting your account (in the account panel) permanently removes the account and everything attached to it, including tiles and unlocks.

Payments (when they arrive)

Paid unlocks, when offered, will be processed by a payment provider. Card numbers, wallet details, and billing identity go to the processor, not to us; we will store only which unlocks an account owns and the processor's transaction reference. This policy will be updated with the provider's name before payments go live.

Infrastructure and analytics

The site runs on Cloudflare, which sees standard server-level traffic data (like IP addresses) to deliver the site and defend it from abuse. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and aggregate — it tells us how many people visited, not who they are. Our abuse rate-limiting briefly counts sign-in attempts using a hashed form of IP + handle; the counters roll over within the hour and are not an IP log.

Changes

If a change to the game changes what this page says, this page changes in the same release, with a new effective date. The history is public in the project's source repository.
